Fasting For Weight Loss - Turn the Power of Mind Into an Amazing Weight Loss Tool

Do you want to lose weight - not for the short term, but permanently? If this is something you've convinced yourself isn't possible, think again. By adding some elements of a "fasting mentality" to your diet, you can shed several pounds every week without even missing the food.


When you think of fasting, you may think up images of a bone-thin monk sitting cross legged withering away on a mountaintop. Maybe a three week long hunger strike bringing the protester to the brink of death. This isn't remotely the effort you have to put in, but you can definitely learn from it. To lose weight, it is absolutely necessary to cut calories. How can you do this without missing the food you love so much?


Three key elements: Increase metabolism, increase energy, and decrease appetite.


Most sugary foods don't do much to kill your appetite, but instead trigger an insulin response to make your body store fat. Try cutting JUST sugary juices (yes, this includes fruit juices) and soda out of your diet. Replace your drinks with green tea, and add a sweetener if necessary.


Not only will green tea replace sugary beverages, but it decreases appetite. If you eat a smaller portion, chase it with a cup of green tea for 5 minutes, you will not be hungry. You'll be satisfied long enough to wait a reasonable time til your next meal.


Another way to uphold a fasting mentality is to boost your metabolism. Metabolism is simply the rate at which your body burns calories. If you can spread out your meals into smaller portions, and eat more frequently, your natural "fireplace" the keeps your body kicking will be in overdrive. Additionally, the green tea mentioned earlier will keep your metabolism rocking too!
