Fast Weight-Loss Diets For Teens - Is the Colon Cleanse Diet Also Effective For Teens?

Even teenagers are bombarded with issues on weight. Several of them are already overweight and are at a high risk for obesity-related diseases such as diabetes, coronary ailments, high blood pressure, and many more. Parents are also concerned on their children's health. That is why nutritionists recommend the following effective methods to help children lose weight:


1. Colon cleansing - Being young does not exempt teens from doing detoxification. In fact, it is recommended that as early as the teenage years, regular cleansing of the colon should be done. It can be a powerful foundation in having a strong immune system. Also, when accumulated wastes and parasites are expelled from the body, the result is often weight loss.


2. Cutting down on carbonated drinks - Soft drinks have a high artificial sugar content which can cause excessive weight gain and diabetes.


3. Drinking an ample amount of water - By supplying plenty of water, our body is rehydrated and at a full throttle in performing a wide variety of functions vital to life. Water also helps in the digestion of food, absorption of nutrients, elimination of wastes, metabolism, and burning of calories through perspiration.


4. Eating lots of fruits - Fruits are a champion source of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. For weight loss and colon cleansing, there are fruits that are especially effective, and these are mangoes, cranberries, grapefruit, red and green apples, kiwis, oranges, and more.


5. Cutting down on junk foods - Companies endorse their products and convince consumers that by eating these foods, nutrients are added into their body. This is not true. Junk foods are not only devoid of nutrition; they also make people gain unwanted weight regardless of the age.


Studies reveal that children who are not active are mostly fat. This is because the unexhausted energy is converted to excess fat. Most children and teens are lazy to act or perform simple chores such as going outside, eating meals at the dining table, or cleaning their room. Instead, they spend longer hours in front of the television or computer. Constant moving, like going to the toilet every now and then and running errands for parents, can be effective in burning fats and calories.
